Do You Have a YouTube Presence?

Overseeing a focus group of young professionals revealed the importance of organizations having a video presence online. When asked how they evaluated potential employers, the overwhelming response was “YouTube.” Their reasoning: if the company or association did not have videos online, or no video discussion was taking place, then the interest in that employer went away.

The Statistics YouTube provides are staggering:

  • More than 1 billion unique users visit YouTube each month
  • More than 6 billion hours of video are watched each month on YouTube—that's almost an hour for every person on Earth, and 50% more than last year
  • 100 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute
  • Mobile makes up more than 25% of YouTube's global watch time, more than one billion views a day

The question each association, business and entity needs to ask: With so many potential consumers, clients and members surfing the web, can you afford not to have a video presence?
